Give Input on the Long List of Potential Project ideas!

Welcome

The City of Eugene is looking to improve the current transportation system over the next 20 years. The result will be an updated 20-year Transportation System Plan, or “TSP.”  After studying what Eugene currently looks like, and expected growth in jobs and housing in the future, the community is now asked to weigh in on two important elements of the TSP during the month of April:

  1. Project ideas to be considered in the TSP
  2. Draft goals, objectives, and policies

Project Ideas

We have worked with the Transportation Community Resource Group to put some project ideas that address known transportation problems on a series of maps.  These are not recommendations – we want input on ideas that should be considered before we begin the process to evaluate them against our stated goals and objectives.  Are they the right set of ideas?  Is anything missing? Help us make sure that the set of ideas (to improve freight, pedestrians and bicyclists, transit, rail networks, airport, and streets) are the right ones to be considered. Goals, Objectives, and Policies

We also want your thoughts on the plan’s draft goals, objectives, and policies.  These represent the values against which our project ideas will be evaluated.  Goals, objectives, and policies set the tone of the ultimate plan – make sure they represent what you think is important for Eugene’s future. We want your feedback on whether our framework is capturing the right set of values for the community of Eugene.  Review the full set of goals, objectives, and policies, and then take our short survey to provide your opinion.

Results of this Project

The result of this effort will be a Transportation System Plan that consists of project-and program-based improvements to meet the long-term transportation needs of Eugene’s residents, businesses, and visitors. The Eugene Bike and Pedestrian Plan will be incorporated into the TSP. We are continually coordinating with a related study, Envision Eugene, that is planning for the city’s housing and employment needs over the next 20 years.
